Acid Fixing Agent

CFRN is acid co-polymer based Acid Fixing Agent, with excellent stability to acids (acetic acid) and stain resistance on a white background, it is specailly designed to improve the moisture fastness of all types of nylon (nylon) including microfiber and wool-dyed or printed fabrics. CFRN is a color fixing agent that does not require acid modulation and does not change color for fluorescent acid dyestuffs, and it does not cause the common problem of acid modulation to fix color spots.
When the wool/nylon textile ratio is 1:2 or 1:1, CFRN can promote the consistent staining and improve the uniformity and homogeneity of wool/nylon textile when metal complex dye or acid dye is used.
CFRN can be double-set with ECO to further improve the fastness to sweat, water and moisture (with ECO it is slightly reddish).

  • Insensitive to acetic acid, low-foam, suitable to be added in mechanical equipment.
  • During the washing process, it has a white anti-staining effect; can significantly improve the fastness of soaping, sweat stains, rubbing, ironing, etc.
  • It does not affect the vividness of the dye, does not affect the feel of the fabric, does not affect the hydrophilicity of the fabric, does not affect the color and light, and is conducive to the production of fluorescent dyeing products according to the standard samples

– The color fixer CFRN can be diluted with cold water in any ratio, and the backup solution can be stored for a long time.

Best results can be obtained by using it in the following ways
★Nylon or wool-dyed fabric post-treatment

The fabric must be washed sufficiently after dyeing to remove all remaining dyeing aids, especially anionic or non-ionic product aids.
CFRN is added to the fresh bath to solidify the color, the absorption of CFRN depends on the pH, temperature and quality of the nylon.
The amount of product used depends on a variety of factors (e.g., dyes used, dyeing depth and material) and generally falls within the following ranges.
1 – 4 % CFRN
70 – 80 degrees, 20 minutes.
The dyed fabric needs to be thoroughly cleaned before and after the use of CFRN

★Post treatment of nylon printed fabric

The colour fixing agent CFRN protects the white ground from staining during washing of nylon printed fabrics printed with acid or 1:2 metal complex dye.

In water baths, CFRN products greatly prevent the white of the print from being stained by dyes that have separated from the fabric or are not fixed. In addition, printed fabrics can be treated with BCFRN in the final bath for improved moisture-fastness performance.

★Dyeing of nylon/cellulose blends
0.5 – 2 % CFRN effectively prevents direct dyeing of nylon stockings.
CFRN should not be added to the copper sulfate post-treatment bath, as the one-bath process results in condensation.

★Dyeing of wool/cellulose blends
CFRN is used in these blends to minimize fibre damage by minimising one-bath dyeing under weak acidic conditions; CFRN prevents the wool component from being stained by direct unconsolidated dyes and promotes uniform staining of the wool by acid dyes.
Dosage: 0.5 – 2 % CFRN

The anti-staining effect depends largely on the affinity of the direct dye used, the dyeing temperature and the PH value in the dye bath.
The color-changing effect can be acquired through dye selection.

★Wool/nylon blend dyeing
For these blends, especially when dyeing light to medium colors, acidic or metal complex dyes are preferred to nylon components with a higher affinity for the dye, so CFRN is used to improve leveling and ensure a satisfactory consistency.
Typical dosage: 0.5 – 4 % CFRN (to be adjusted according to where it is used)
In any case, the exact amount of CFRN depends on the dye variety, the depth of dyeing, the dyeing method and the quality of the fabric. Light-colored, fast-dyeing and high-affinity nylon fabrics generally require higher amounts, however, too much CFRN saturates the nylon fibers, so prior testing is necessary to determine the amount of CFRN.


Nylon fabrics are difficult to redyed or overdyed after CFRN treatment, so the product rows must be heavily stripped from the fibres by the following treatments.
1) 2 – 3 ML/L ammonia water 25%
– Add: 1 – 2 g/L blending levelling agent if required
2) Boiling point treatment for 15 – 20 minutes

If the CFRN-treated wool fabric needs to be redyed, the pH value must not be higher than 8.5 and the temperature must not exceed 85 degrees Celsius when the color fixer CFRN is removed.

When used on wool, the CFRN significantly improves the following fastness

– Improved wash and sweat fastness of neutral and reactive dyestuffs, improved 1:1 metal complex dyestuffs, acid shrink dyes, and monosulfonated acid dyes
– Heat-resistant water fastness for wool reactive dyestuff and improved 1:1 metal complex dyestuff
– Frictional fastness (dry vs. wet) of modified 1:1 metal complex dyes and wool reactive dyes
– Cross-dye fastness and sweat fastness of wool reactive dyestuff

BCFRN may have a slight effect on the feel of the fabric (hardening, thickening), depending on the amount of CFRN used, the fabric structure, drying or shaping temperature.

The post-treatment effect of CFRN at common stereotypic temperatures is stable to dry heat, but is affected by high pressure vapour, and the stability to vapour is usually improved by increasing the amount of colour fixer.

Storage stability: 20 ° C can be stored in a closed container for one year.
